A planning application has been submitted for 700 new houses at Owens Farm west of Hook. This follows on from the consultation we discussed back in July. It appears as though the developer, Wilbur Developments Limited is taking advantage of Hart not having a Local Plan.
Since the appeal decision granting permission at Grove Farm (Netherhouse Copse), Hart is effectively a sitting duck. Hart’s saved policies were ruled to be out of date and its five-year land supply was judged to be irrelevant.
The planning application, with reference 17/02317/OUT, is for an urban extension of 700 dwellings on Owens Farm, on the western edge of Hook. There’s over 140 documents to wade through.
This site did not figure in the draft Local Plan consultation. We don’t need it to even to meet Hart’s ridiculous 10,185 housing target. And we certainly don’t need it to meet the Government’s new target of 6,132 for Hart District.
Obviously, Hook residents are hopping mad with the proposals, with one resident describing the proposals as follows:
How to object to Owens Farm West Hook
Please lodge you objections to these unnecessary proposals here.

I’ve always voted LibDem in local elections (where a candidate is available) – they can’t count on my vote any more. Never voted Tory, and never will, so that’s that then …
I wouldn’t vote Tory either. Going to look at Labour find out for myself. The right wing papers will always slate Labour so not going by what they report. Although round here no chance.
The Liberal Democrat’s have sold out. Cancelling my membership tomorrow.
This was good news

Yes, I remember that one … but will they take any notice??
Every time I see a We Heart Heart post my heart sinks. I know there will be more bad news … No offence, David Turver …?
Unless the council focuses towards a more urban led/brownfield developments approach. We are going to just keep getting low density fringe green field developments. What else and where else are developers going to build new homes?
Sheila Millard gosh – more houses planned.
The Lib Dem/CCH coalition
Ahh the ones that ignored their constituents votes and pushed out the council we voted for (conservatives) because they think they are better… says a lot. Clearly they are not doing their job very well. This needs to change.
From 2012 to May 2017 (for 5 years) this was the responsibilty of the conservatives me thinks be careful of glass houses and stones
CCH & Lib Dem members were in Cabinet in 2014/15
And CCH derailed the proposed Local Plan consultation in Dec 2016.
The leadership and the planning portfolio was held by the conservatives and I have no recollection of any attempt by CCH to derail the local plan consultation which meeting are you referring to?

Why does hart not have a local plan still? Who owns this on the council?
