[Update] Application approved on appeal, making the council a sitting duck for new applications [/Update]
Berkeley Homes have submitted an application to build 423 dwellings at Nether House Copse (aka Grove Farm) in Fleet, Hampshire. Hart District Council have circulated a letter to some people seeking observations.
We Heart Hart does not believe this development is either necessary or desirable as there is plenty of brownfield land available, most notably the proposed Hartland Village at the Pyestock site, also proposed by the Berkeley Home group, and many others we have set out here.
We encourage you to object to this development, by going to the Hart consultation website and searching using the reference 16/01651/OUT.
I have registered and left my objection. Please do the same, if this goes ahead Crookham Village will lose all that is precious to it. I have pretty much reiterated Barrie’s sentiments.

Ooh! A flood plain! What an excellent place to build houses 🙂
Could not have said it better myself Lesley Parish x
Yet more destruction of our green, productive, land. Don’t do it! You never know when we will need that land to feed our population.
So true

Green……..must build on it. Self destruct. Fully agree Barrie.
I have registered my objection in the following terms:
‘I object to this proposal because it would destroy the semi-rural character of Church Crookham, because it would create further congestion in and around the area, because it would place additional strain on local facilities, and because it is unnecessary given the number of brown field sites available.’
I, a resident of Winchfield, trust the residents of Church Crookham will appreciate my support, when many of them felt unable to oppose the proposed settlement at Winchfield.
This makes me very sad, this will surely see the destruction of one of the prettiest and most historic villages left in our area 🙁
