Planning the Infrastructure we need in Hart District

There is much debate about the supposed infrastructure benefits of a new town at Winchfield.  This page gives links to posts about how our infrastructure is funded, our current deficit, the estimated costs of infrastructure for a new town and the expected developer contributions. We also take a look at the impact on Fleet and Church Crookham of a new town and whether we need a new secondary school

How is our infrastructure funded?

Who is responsible for our infrastructure and when do developers have to make a contribution?

Hart’s £78m infrastructure funding deficit

Our funding deficit is mostly in Fleet, Church Crookham and Hook and a new town won't fix that

What are the infrastructure funding costs for a new town

The infrastructure costs of a new town are estimated at over £300m, but developer contributions will only be around £50m making our position worse

Ranil calls for infrastructure investment

Our local MP, Ranil Jayawardena calls for proactive use of compulsory purchase powers to fund infrastructure

What’s the impact of a new town on Fleet and Church Crookham?

The impacts will include starvation of infrastructure funding, extra traffic and congestion, lack of affordable homes and destruction of amenity space

Do we need a new secondary school?

The evidence that we need a new secondary school is simply not there
