We need to Address the needs of local people

We need to address the needs of local people, particularly the elderly and young people who want to get on the housing ladder.  A new town won't address the needs of either group

Developers in Hart land banking

Over 1,000 dwellings permitted on or before 2013 and not yet built

We not not building enough smaller properties for young people

We have built less than half the proportion of 1-bed properties we need and nearly double the number of 4+bed properties

Hart Council is not addressing the needs of the elderly

We need to build over 2,500 specialist units for the elderly and a new town won't address this need, but a brownfield strategy can

How do we meet the needs of our young people?

About half of new housing should be 1 & 2-bed properties that could be delivered as starter homes from brownfield sites
